Chocolate beet smoothie
If there was one thing I couldn't give up, it would be chocolate. So a smoothie with a bit of cocoa sounded great this morning. With a bit of Greek yogurt, beets, pear and vanilla protein powder, this one turned out dreamy and tasting like a sweet dessert. Beets improve brain health, may help fight inflammation and improve digestive health and they have antioxidants, so they are a great addition to this smoothie for their health benefits and they actually turn this chocolate smoothie a dark pink which is a hit with the kids!
Ingredients
1 banana
1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
1 tbsp of cocoa
1 small beet
1/4 of a pear
2/3 cup of water
1 scoop of Vanilla protein powder (I used Vega sports vanilla protein powder)
Directions
Throw all the ingredients in the blender and blend fully. Serve and enjoy!
