My love for cooking started a few years ago. The first thing I discovered in the kitchen was making soups. Broccoli cheddar, asparagus potage, minestrone, curried lentil with Havarti - this is where it all began. Since then, it's become one of my favorite escapes, and it's evolved to also include full meals. desserts and adventurous snacks packed with nutrients and energy-boosting so I'm ready for anything throughout the day.

Hi. I'm Melina. I started this blog with a few purposes: to share experiences of living mindfully and share healthy recipes that I've created along the way, and to provide some guiding questions that have helped me and can inspire others to figure out what living purposefully means to them. If health and wellness is a topic of interest to you, and if you like blogs that make you reflect on your life, you'll be right at home here. This blog focuses on three things - whole food recipes ("the first bite"), mindfulness ("the blue sky") and the journey of self-discovery ("the way forward"). Those closest to me would describe me as someone who values relationships, great conversation and the simplest things in life. I am a mother. I am a social worker and a health coach. I am a creative spirit. I am an adventure-seeker. I live in Aylmer, Quebec with my 5 year old son.
