This smoothie is a real escape, a blend of mangos, bananas and pineapple that makes you feel like you’re at the beach, a sweet combination of delicious flavors. Whether on the go or spending a nice Sunday morning at home, smoothies have become a great nutrient-packed breakfast in our home that even our two year old can’t get enough of. It should have the right combination of sweet, without one ingredient masking all the other ones. With every sip of this tropical green version, you can easily identify each of the tropical fruit, but you would hardly know that there was spinach or kale if it wasn’t for the light green tint it has. But don’t limit yourself to the idea of only making it into a smoothie that you drink, you can reduce some of the water to make a thicker smoothie bowl topped with your favorite fruit and some chia seeds and hemp hearts, or you can use the smoothie mix to make green smoothie popsicles for a hot summer day.

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana

¾ cup of frozen mangos

A few chunks of frozen pineapple (optional, still delicious if you only have bananas and mangos on hand)

1 ½ cups of spinach or kale

½ cup of plain yogurt

¾ cup of water, or milk (just reduce the amount of yogurt if you’re putting in milk)

Hemp hearts (optional, but such a great addition)

A pinch of shredded coconut (optional)

Directions:

Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender and puree. Add more water if necessary.
